Your laptop and your Android devices are totally based on all the commands and signatures which a user provides to it. No, I am not talking about the oral commands which you give it, I am talking about the full process of ADB and fastboot commands.
ADB is a totally new concept which has been managing your devices for a long amount of time and trust me, every user is dependent on ADB for daily tasks. It is always beneficial in the process to whenever you backup your device, move content from place to place, copy any personal files, update the software, make and arrange other stuff or install new firmware, everything that you can think of, ADB does it for you. And that too via the fastboot commands.
All that you need to do is to just connect any of your device to your PC and laptop, and just setup all the ADB and fastboot tools to carry out any function which you want to. Right from installing a new ROM to getting basic info about your device, you can do anything via fastboot commands on your smartphone.
All you will need are the ADB commands specified for every task.
Fastboot command to factory reset bootloader
Function: The function of this command is that it checks the connection and get all the basic information from your devices when connected to the computer. While using ADB, this is probably one of the primary commands that you will run. It will also return to you a list of all the devices that you have connected to your computer previously. In brief, if it returns a device ID, you are totally connected and ready to send the commands.
Function: This command reboots your device into the recovery mode or the bootloader mode.
This command allows you to boot directly to your phone’s bootloader if you aren’t able to able it anyway and once you are in the bootloader menu, ADB will not work there anymore. And, that is the place where fastboot comes into action and will simplify your tasks. But trust me, quite like the recovery command in your PC, it is pretty much easier to boot into the bootloader of your device with a command on your computer than just a series of buttons on your phone which, at the end of the day, turns out to be quite complex for you.
adb reboot recovery
Function: This command reboots your phone into recovery mode, something like what I previously told you.
We know that you sometimes would flash custom ROMs on your device and for that, you will need the access to adb commands which require you to boot into recovery mode. In general, this method requires you to hold down a particular set of buttons on your device for a certain time, which is truly a long process. But, with this command, you will be allowed to boot directly into recovery mode of your device without actually performing the complex methods on your device which at the end, put your device into bootloops or security risks.
adb push [source] [destination]
Function: This command copies files from your computer to your phone.
This push command of adb allows you to copy files from your computer or laptop to your device without touching your device or without any hassles. This is quite better for copying large files from your PC to your phone like any game or movies which you sought to watch. Basically, it is free and easy. So, why not to go for it? In order to use this command, all you wil need to know is the full file path for both your source and destination for the file and the host. If the file you want to copy is already in the folder of your tools where ADB actually resides, you can then simply enter the name of the file as the source and copy it right away.
Function: This command is just the vice versa of the above command as it will copy files from your phone to your computer.
This pull command in ADB allows you to copy files from your phone to your computer in case you were wondering and when you are pulling the files, you can even choose to leave out all the destination parameter which is under your choice and in that case, the file will be copied to the folder on your computer where ADB itself resides. You can then move it to wherever you like in your PC and that too without any issues using normal copying.
